Join NRC on upcoming Neighborhood Tours- Saturday, April 16 & Saturday, April 23, 2011
Albany Park is home to historic architecture, world class dining, and an incredible diversity of cultures and ethnicities. Tour the tree-lined streets of 
North Mayfair, the bungalow neighborhood that “This Old House” magazine calls the country’s “Best Place for Bungalows.” A stroll through North Park University’s landscaped campus and past the North Branch of the Chicago River puts you in touch with the area’s Swedish American roots. Grab a bite or pick up a souvenir at the international restaurants, shops and groceries along Kedzie Avenue, Albany Park’s “Restaurant Row.” Learn the history of the Cambodian American community as we visit the Cambodian American Heritage Museum on Lawrence Avenue. Visit Ravenswood Manor, the city’s most architecturally unique bungalow district that hugs Chicago River and is home to many powerful Chicagoans, including Illinois’ former Governor, Rod Blagojevich. We finish the tour with a trip through North Park Village, a lush oasis of green space loved dearly by Chicagoans for its 46-acre Nature Preserve and interactive Nature Center, open to the public 363 days a year.
