Let Me Fill The Sky                by Ryan Tova Katz

When I am lucky enough to be given a blank wall and the freedom to create whatever I want, I go for color and joy. Chicago can be a very gray city especially during the long winters. I wanted to paint a mural that would pop off the wall and be seen, even if you weren't looking for it. Hence the bright yellow and forever blue sky. I love to paint children in undeniably happy scenarios. Childhood games mixed with a little magic. I wanted the little girl in this mural to represent Albany Park's diverse community. A big thank you to my little model Ariales for making the magic of this mural come to life!
