Albany Park East Walking Tour
August 5, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join Chicago for Chicagoans founder and neighborhood resident Patti Swanson for a one-of-a-kind Albany Park seven-year anniversary tour! Beginning at the Francisco Brown Line station, we’ll explore the history, landmarks, and architecture of one of the city’s most brilliantly diverse neighborhoods. See quaint rows of bungalows and other vernacular treasures, admire ornate public schools, fieldhouses and vintage storefronts, discover the rich history of our local businesses and nonprofit organizations, and learn stories of the area’s humble beginnings and the tapestry of immigrants that have created the neighborhood we love today.
The tour will wind through the eastern part of the neighborhood, ending at Kimball Brown Line station. Participants are encouraged to stay & enjoy a beverage afterwards at Nighthawk (or grab a bite to eat at Hot Dog Station after the tour!
